Do they store your document on a single disk? No. I doubt most companies - Amazon included - offer up much visibility into their storage practices. Thank you for any answer/advice, it would be appreciated :) But then I thought, since the deletion is also synchronized, if one day all my data disappeard from dropbox, isn't it also deleted from gdrive? So is this strategy has any sense at all? So I configured gdrive to backup the dropbox folder on my pc so that any change in my dropbox folder is also applied on my gdrive.
Lastly: the other day I thought that maybe could be a good idea to backup my dropbox files (other than on a personal hdd, but this happens only once in a while) on Google Drive. Is there a way to know what kind of redundancy policy is dropbox using for the Basic plan? is all my data on a single disk somewhere or at least is distributed on multiple facilities? I was searching this online but I've not found a clear answer
However, after reading some stuff online I was wondering how much safe is to store sensible documents on dropbox (on an availability point of view rather than encryption), like is there any chance that one day I open up my dropbox folder and all my shit is gone? I have been using dropbox to store my personal documents for some time as I've always thought that was the safest way to having my data backed up on the cloud.
